Hayes, Edna M., age 85, homemaker, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2007. She was born Edna May Mosley in west Wichita on May 1, 1921; the daughter of Audie Mosley and Ethel Iseminger. Edna graduated from North High School in 1939. She worked as an optometrist’s assistant before working at Beechcraft during WWII. Edna married Youal Hayes on April 4, 1942. They were married for over 54 years. Edna’s family has lived in the west Wichita area for over a century, starting as homesteaders. She was active in several westside women’s clubs, including EHU, where she taught craft classes. Edna was preceded in death by her husband, her parents and her only brother, Richard Mosley. She is survived by sons Terry Hayes and wife Pam of Wichita, and Randy Hayes of Wichita; Grandsons Scott Hayes and wife Heather of Wichita, Adam Hayes and wife Nicole of Newark, NJ, Collin Hayes, Corbin Hayes, and Ryan Ray all of Wichita; Granddaughter Natalie Flinn and husband Brian of Derby; Great Granddaughter Madison Hayes of Wichita; Great Grandsons Gavin Flinn and Dawson Ray both of Wichita. A visitation with the family will be held from 6-8 PM Friday, with services scheduled for 2:00 PM Saturday, both in the Garden Chapel of Watson Funeral Home.
