Ellie J. Martens

Martens, Elinor J., age 80, homemaker, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2007. Elinor was born on August 28, 1926, in Lamar, Colorado, to Joseph M. and Flossie L. (Hopper) Infield. She graduated from Eads, Colorado High School, then went on to attend the University of Wichita and graduated from the University of Colorado with a degree in Music Education. In her earlier years, she taught music education in Littleton, Colorado and in the Wichita Public Schools. She was a member of P.E.O., Daughters of the American Revolution and Delta Delta Delta Sorority. She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, R. D. Martens in 2002. She is survived by her sons, Steven (Vicki) Martens, of Wichita, Mike (Susie) Martens, of Lakeland, Florida, sister, Pat (Don) Evenson, of Branson, Missouri, 4 grandchildren and 2 nephews. Funeral Services are scheduled for 3:00 PM Thursday, at East Heights United Methodist Church.
