Balman, James H., age 82, retired Boeing illustrator, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2007. Services are scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, in the Garden Chapel of Watson Funeral Home, with burial following in Clay Center, Kansas. He was born on June 14, 1925, in Wichita, Kansas to Clarence "C.A." and Frances (Newton) Balman. He married Audine Banks on May 19, 1951, in Wichita, Kansas. He served our country in the Navy during WW II, was active in the Masonic Lodge, serving in the Albert Pike Lodge, the Royal Arch Masons as past High Priest, Mt. Olivet Commandery No. 12, Knights Templar, Past Commander, Midian Temple, and the Calvary Conclave, Past Sovereign. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant brother. He is survived by Audine, daughters, Shelley Word and her husband Pike, of Perkins, Oklahoma, Barbara Froese and her husband Richard, of Andover, Kansas, grandchildren, Casey Froese, of Andover, Kansas, Cari Reents and her husband Kevin, of Wichita and 3 great-grandchildren.
