Tarr, Helen Mary, age 87, retired after 31 years with J C Penney, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2007. Helen was born on December 29, 1919, at her grandparents farm east of Abilene, Kansas, to Elmer M. and Grace B. (Slifer) Funston. After graduating from Abilene High School in 1937, she worked in the Belle Springs Creamery for 16 years and later married Charles Tarr on June 8, 1952 in Abilene, Kansas. They moved to Wichita from Liberal, Kansas in 1959. She retired from J C Penney in their offices after 31 years with the company. Charles passed away in October 2005. Helen is survived by her brother, Harold Funston, of Hutchinson, sister, Doris Strunk, of Wheatridge, Colorado, niece, Claudine Boes and her husband John, of Titusville, Florida, nephew, Bob Harrison and his wife Ann, of San Antonio, Texas and special friends and caregivers, Larry and Debbie Sutherland, of Wichita, Kansas. Funeral Services are scheduled for 10:30 AM Thursday, in the Garden Chapel of Watson Reflection Pointe. Please remember Helen with a memorial donation to either Mt.
