Fox, Marilyn Elaine (Gwinn). 83, of Wichita, Ks. retired oil secretary, passed away Tuesday, August 23, 2011. Marilyn was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and faithful friend to many. She was born in Wichita on September 23, 1927 to Robert P. and Enid (Henkle) Gwinn. Marilyn graduated from Wichita East High, Class of 1945; attended Wichita State University as a Music and Liberal Arts Major, and Minored in Secretarial Training. She worked in the oil business for 40 yrs., the last 25 yrs. for E.K. Edmiston Oil Company and retiring with Landmark Square Management after 8 yrs. Marilyn was Past President of Oil Secretaries Association, and was an active Sorosis Sorority Alumni of WSU. She was a member the OSA bowling league for nearly 40 years. She adored attending her grandchildren’s activities. She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert P. and Enid (Henkle) Gwinn, sister Barbara J. (Gwinn) Brown, and brother-in-law Donald G. Brown. She is survived by her 3 children, Vicki Haeberle (Allan) of La Quinta, CA; James B. Fox of Wichita; and Janis Engels (Duane) of Rose Hill. 6 granddaughters - Liz, Jessica, Lauren, Pam, Jayme and Jenna; and 4 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service for Marilyn is scheduled for 11:00 am, Friday, September 2, 2011 at Peace Lutheran Church of Andover, KS, reception following the service. Graveside services will be held at Old Mission Wichita Park at 2 pm. A great appreciation to Lakepoint of Rose Hill Nursing Center and staff, Rivercross Hospice for all their loving care to Marilyn during the past 3 years, and to her many friends for all their love and support.
