Shirley Thornhill

Thornhill, Shirley C., 69, retired Adult Education teacher, passed away Wed., July 4, 2007. Shirley was born Dec. 9, 1937 in El Dorado, Kansas to Rupert and Cleta Matthews. She was a proud graduate of Emporia State University. She was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include her loving husband of 50 years, Charles Thornhill, Daughters, Helen (Jim) Laning of Shawnee, Kan., Athena (Bob) Griffiths of Derby, Alicia (Bruce) Crutcher of Troy, Ill., Sisters, Jackie ( Gene) Boxberger of Miller, MO., Trudy Matthews of Council Grove, Kan., 7 grandchildren. Visitation, Friday, 3 to 8 p.m. in the Garden Chapel of Watson Reflection Pointe, 3201 S. Webb Rd. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, 10:30 am. at Calvary United Methodist Church, Wichita. Graveside service, 2:30 p.m., Maud Cemetery, rural Cunningham, Kansas. Please remember Shirley with a memorial donation to Victory in the Valley and Calvary UMC.
