Ruth Hall was born in Fountain, Colorado. She received her undergraduate degree from William Jewell College and her Master’s degree in Social Work from Washington University. She married James (Henry) Hall on June 9, 1946. In 1950 they moved to Wichita, Kansas. Ruth started working at Kansas Children’s Service League as an adoption social worker in the late 1950s and worked there until her retirement in 1985. Ruth enjoyed national and international travel, gardening and the Colorado Mountains. She was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church from 1953 until her death. Survivors include daughters and son-in-laws; Lillian Sue and Peter Wells of England, Linda and Barry Stuart of Louisburg, Kansas, and Joyce Martin of Wichita, grandchildren; Joshua McMillin of Arkansas City, Zach Wells, Jessica McMillin and Jay Martin of Wichita, Ashley Kuchanny of England, Laura Stuart of Overland Park, Karen Stuart of Louisburg, and great-grandchildren Zeke and Zaylee Holt of Wichita. Memorials suggested to Woodlawn Baptist Church 960 S. Woodlawn, 67218. Memorial Celebration is planned at Woodlawn Baptist Church on Sunday, November 20, 2011 at 2:00 pm.
