Vernon "Edd" LaPlant, Jr.

LaPlant, Vernon “Edd” Jr., 64 years old, LaPlant Construction Owner, Vietnam Veteran, USAF, passed away peacefully on Jan.20,2012 at home with his loving family. Preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Alda, and father, Vernon E. LaPlant Sr. Survived by his beautiful, loving wife of 30 years, Karen L. LaPlant, children Brock, Ric, Ed Jr., Tracy, Robert, & Luke, Grandchildren, Shianne, & Kaden, Sister Sue Read (Gary), Brother, Bill LaPlant (Lynn), and faithful pets, Barney, Max, and Baby.
After returning from Vietnam Edd worked as a General Contractor/ Designer for the past 40 years in the Wichita area. Many homes and businesses still display his unique style, and impeccable craftsmanship. He will be dearly missed.
Services and full military honors will be held Sat. Jan. 28, 2012 at 2PM at Watson Funeral Home, 3201 S. Webb Rd. Edd’s final wake will be held at American Legion Post #4, at Murdock and Water St, Wichita following the services.
A memorial has been established with the Cancer Centers of Kansas, and the American Legion Thomas Hopkins Post #4 in Wichita, KS.
