Gordon, Lois (Ayres), 98, retired private cello teacher and Wichita symphony cellist, passed away Christmas morning, 2007. Lois was born in Lyford, TX on August 4, 1909, to May Wadsworth and Philip Sheridan Ayres. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Eldon and Weston, sister, AEnid Callihan, and husband of 63 years, Russell. She is survived by son, Richard (Eleanor) Gordon, of Littleton, CO, daughters, Barbara Gordon, and Bea (Jack) Kirkham, all of Wichita, seven grandsons, and nine great-grandchildren. A Musical Celebration of her life is scheduled for Saturday, January 5, 10:30 a.m., at Eastminster Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established with the Wichita Symphony Society, 225 W. Douglas, Wichita, 67202, Eastminster Presbyterian Church Bell Choir, 1958 N.
