Michael D. Engstrom

Engstrom, Michael D., 50, of Derby, KS, Kirby Vacuum District Trainer, died Wednesday, August 24. A visitation with the family present will be held from 2-4 Sunday, with Funeral services scheduled for 10:00 AM Monday, both at Watson’s Garden Chapel. A luncheon will follow the service at the Mulvane EMS Building, 910 E. Main. Mike was born on July 24, 1955, in Red Cloud, Nebraska, to Robert and Marilou (Bloom) Engstrom. After graduating from Red Cloud High School in 1973, he went on to Ft. Hays State University and received a Bachelors Degree in Physical Education. He taught and coached for 6 years in La Crosse, KS. Then received a Masters Degree from Ft. Hays State in Administrative Education. He was involved in public school administration in Grand Island, NE, Crete, NE and Galva, KS. He is survived by his beloved wife, Deanna(Kisner), of the home, mother, Marilou Engstrom of Red Cloud, NE, son and daughter-in-law, Scott & Barbie Engstrom of Hutchinson, daughters and sons-in-law, Jaime & Ty Maltbie of Salina, Kristin & Patrick Hamker of Wichita, step-daughter, Sarah Lette of Derby, sisters, Kim Johnson of Red Cloud, NE, Pam Brown of Grafton, NE, and grandchildren, Tanner, Wyatt, Megan, Caden and Garrett.
