Was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Shirley Trainum. He is survived by his son Richard (Shirley) Hopper, Derby, KS, grandchildren, Richard (Tory) Hopper, Topanga, CA, Kathy (Brad) Carey, Derby, Brenda Wingate, Andover, KS, Stephen Cardsello, St. Louis, MO, 5 great-grandchildren.
