Michael Schepis

Schepis, Dr. Michael, age 82, ret. Baptist minister, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 1, 2008. The visitation with the family will be held from 2 - 4 PM Sunday, in the Garden Chapel of Watson Reflection Pointe, 3201 S. Webb Road, with funeral services scheduled for 2:00 PM Monday, at Friendship Baptist Church, 2209 E. Pawnee. Mike was a pastor for 62 years and was the founding pastor of Grace Baptist Church of Wichita, KS in 1955, where he was pastor for 29 years. He was also a chaplain for the Wichita Police Department and Wesley Medical Center. He graduated from the Fundamental Baptist Bible Institute of Fort Worth, TX, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the Pacific Coast Baptist Bible College of San Dimas, CA, Master's degree at Missionary Baptist College, in Sacramento, CA. and earned his Doctor of Ministry from the Baptist Christian University in Shreveport, LA. Also, he was the Administrator of Heritage Baptist University in Wichita, KS. He will be missed by his loving wife of 65 years, Marcella, sons, Mike (Kathy) Schepis, of Overland Park, KS, Phil (Nancy) Schepis, of Wichita, brother, Nino Schepis, of Paris, Texas, 9 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
