Willis, Doris M., age 91, passed away August 14, 2014. The visitation with the family will be from 4 - 6 PM Monday, in the Garden Chapel of Watson Reflection Pointe, 3201 S. Webb, with funeral services at 10:00 AM Tuesday, Riverside Christian Church. Doris was born in Morristown, TN, to William Arthur (Bill) and Eunice (Amos) Miller. She met a handsome young Army sergeant named John Robert (Bob) Willis, whom she married and they made their home in Wichita, KS. Together they were very active at Broadway Christian Church and involved in the Wichita Firefighters Assoc. and Auxiliary. She became the regional director for the Muscular Dystrophy Association and was a passionate genealogist. After her husband passed away in 1995, she drew strength from her faith, family and friends and immersed herself in her church and genealogy research. She transferred her church membership to Riverside Christian Church, where it remains. After the sudden and unexpected passing of her daughters, Jan and Diane, she moved to Emporia, KS to be close to her daughter Karen. She was healthy until the last few weeks of her life when an illness took her home to be with the Lord. She is survived by her daughter, Karen (Greg) Bachman, Emporia, grandchildren, Erin (Mike) Saltaformaggio, Rachael (Chris) Correll, Melody (Scott) McComas, Sean Ballinger, David (Olivia) Oster, Amber (Preston) Beavers, Kimberly (Aaron) Taylor, Amy Oster and 18 great-grandchildren.
