Haney, Edith Willet, age 92, was born, raised, lived her entire life, and built her “Bridge” following in Wichita. Edith’s life was teaching “Bridge” and her students. She loved to travel to “Bridge” tournaments across the country and in doing so earned her “Life Master” credentials. She has played with the best, including Charles Goren. She taught “Bridge” in Wichita for more than fifty years. Anyone in the area who plays “Bridge” knows, or has taken lessons from Edith. Most of those fifty years were filled with eight classes a week, with her slowing down to four classes at age 88. Late in her 89th year, she had to give up her classes, due to complications from a car accident. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Pearl May (Green) Bradshaw, husband, Orton O. (they were married for 41 years), sisters, Opal Madeline, Heln Louise, Thelma June, Ruth Elizabeth. Her nephews and nieces survive her, Frank and Carmen Marsh, Johnny Poff of Wichita, Rita Lowery of Livermore, CA, Jay Stevens of Allen, TX, Wesley Stevens of Grand Rapids, MI, Patricia (Patty) Ann Jolly of Hanson, KY, Queenie Mallcolm of Charlotte, NC. Visitation with the family, 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, in the Garden Chapel of Watson Reflection Pointe, 3201 S. Webb Rd, graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, White Chapel Memorial Gardens, officiated by Reverend Thomas Harmon.
