Williams, Wanda Lee (Freeman), suffered a massive stroke Wednesday morning, and was called to her Heavenly Home Friday night. The visitation with the family will be held from 6 - 7 PM Monday, in the Garden Chapel of Watson Funeral Home, with services scheduled for 10:00 AM Tuesday, at Bethany Lutheran Church. Wanda was born on September 18, 1931, to Francis and Lillian (Roper) Freeman in Wichita. She attended local schools and spent her younger years here. Her teen years were spent between Wichita and Donovan, MO, where she graduated from high school. Her first marriage produced daughters Linda Lee and Mylea Marie Hodo. The marriage ended in divorce. In 1956 she was living in Wichita and became re-acquainted with Donald J. Williams, a family friend who was recently discharged from the U. S. Army. The friendship blossomed and on June 29, 1957, they were married at Miami, OK. This union produced three sons, Dwayn J, Dwight J. and David J. Williams. Wanda was a loving and forgiving mother, wife, friend and companion. At home and with friends at church, (she was a member of Bethany Lutheran Church since 1958) and at work. She was retired from NCR Corporation as a fork lift operator, and worked at Wal-Mart in Derby. She loved to travel around the U. S. A., but her fondest memories were of Hawaii. Her one main hobby was BINGO and she had many BINGO BUDDIES and friends who will dearly miss her laughter and camaraderie. She leaves to mourn her husband, Donald J., of the home, daughters, Linda L. Schmidt, of Tucson, AZ, Mylea M. Powell, of Wichita, sons, Dwayn J. of Coppell, TX, Dwight J., of Derby, and David J., of rural Winfield. 19 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. Friends may remember Wanda with a memorial to Bethany Lutheran Church, 1000 W. 26th St. South, Wichita, KS 67217.
