Burch, Robert "Bob" William, passed away April 25th. Bob was born in Salina in 1929. He graduated from Assaria High School in 1947. After attending college at Bethany and at Emporia State, he earned a degree in mathematics. He then took a job in Albuquerque, New Mexico where he was involved in the early days of the atomic age. Moving to Kansas, he worked for Boeing for 34 years in Engineering, and Engineering Management. While at Bethany, he met and married the love of his life, Pat McManis. They were married for nearly 65 years and were constant companions until her passing, only five days prior to him. Bob was a Trustee for Butler County Community College, was on the board for the Boeing Management Club, was active in his church, volunteered for Victory in the Valley, and especially enjoyed performing farming chores. Bob and Pat loved traveling and made numerous international trips and cruises – many of them with their children and grandchildren. He is survived by sisters, Carolyn Russell (Duluth) and Marolyn (Paul) Willden (Glasco, KS), children, Alan (Ann) Burch of Wichita, Gary Burch of Dallas, Angela (Jim) Quinlan of Canton, MI, and Pamela Strong of Denver; grandchildren, Jessica Hembree, Sean Burch, Liz Tiede, Bobby Burch, Paige Quinlan, and Tessa Quinlan; and great-grandchildren, James and Sam Hembree.
