Lauck, Ruth Odessa, 90, went to meet her Heavenly Father Tues, May 19, 2009. Ruth was born Aug. 6, 1918, one of 58 grandchildren of Peter and Elise Zuercher who immigrated from Switzerland and settled
in Whitewater, KS in 1883. She was born in Odessa, NE, moved to Wichita in 1922 with her parents
Ernest and Minnie Langenegger, and graduated from Central Intermediate, East High School and Wichita
Business College. Ruth worked as a stenographer at Boeing for 25 years, retiring in 1972. Ruth enjoyed
a lifelong love of music, and was an accomplished pianist and organist. She was also an avid reader and
crossword puzzle aficionado. Ruth was an active member of Calvary United Methodist Church for 86
years, serving as volunteer choir director for 14 of those years. Ruth was preceded in death by her
husband Virgil Lauck. She is survived by her children Allan Cluster of Mesa, AZ; Beverly Spiegelberg of Mercer Island, WA; John (Dana) Cluster of Houston, TX; and stepdaughter Doreen (Dick) Clark of
Wichita; 10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Ruth was a beloved mother and grandmother
who will be dearly missed. Services will be held at Calvary UMC, 2525 N. Rock Road, Friday, May 22
at 9:30 AM. Memorials in Ruth's name may be made to Calvary UMC. Watson Reflection Pointe, 3201 S. Webb Road, Wichita, is in charge of her services.
