Gerald G. "Gerry" Rampy, age 94, World War II Army veteran, who always thought of himself as "A Common Soldier", and the retired owner and operator of Sedgwick Lumber Company, passed away Thursday, December 29, 2016. No visitation. A memorial gathering will be held at the Rampy residence 3 PM to 6 PM, Monday, January 2. A private inurnment service will be held for the family at a later date. Gerry is preceded in death by his wife, Donna; son, Corey Ray Rampy; parents, Glen & Thelma Rampy; brothers, Harold and Bob Rampy; sisters, Betty Wiley and Sandra Rampy. Survivors include his sons, David (Leah), of Alexandria, VA, and Troy (Sherri), of North Richland Hills, TX; daughter, Toni Hughes (Terry), of Wichita; brothers, Don, Dick (Juanita), Jack (Carol), and Larry; 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A memorial has been established with the Kansas Humane Society, 3313 N. Hillside, Wichita, KS 67219.
