Boese, Larry E. “Chicken Bones”, died of cancer on July 28, 2006. He was born December 4, 1946, and has resided in Douglass the past 11 years.
Larry was proud of his military service for his country. He was awarded a purple heart for his bravery in Vietnam. He was a life member of the Kansas Bass Masters Association. He was an enthusiastic Harley Davidson rider and belonged to the motorcycle group, H.O.G. and A.B.A.T.E. After 23 years, he retired from Boeing Wichita, and enjoyed his time on his farm in Douglass.
He is preceded in death by his father John Boese; his grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Charles Mock. Survivors include special companion, Sue Cooper, Douglass; a son, John Boese and wife, Michelle of Burns, KS; 2 daughters: Samantha Boese, and Lacy Boese, both of Wichita; 4 grandchildren: Chloe, Eric, Dylan, and Zane. His family and many friends will miss him.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Department of Kansas, VFW, P.O. Box 1008, Topeka, KS 66601-1008. A memorial service will be held in Watson’s Garden Chapel, Saturday, August 5 at 2:00PM.
