Daniel E. Buckner, age 74, Industrial Maintenance Technician, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010. The visitation with the family present will be from 6 – 8 PM Monday, in the Garden Chapel of Watson Reflection Pointe, 3201 S. Webb Road, with services scheduled for 10:30 AM Tuesday, Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, 1101 N. River Blvd. Dan worked for Fleming Foods, Wichita Sheet Metal, Dubuque, Sunflower and Prairieland Processors. Born on March 19, 1935 in Mountain Home, AR to William and Marjorie Buckner. Dan was active in the Democratic Party, serving as Precinct Chair Person and Committee Member. In his spare time, he loved hunting, fishing and anything that involved his grandchildren and great-grand-children that he adored. Some of his favorite enjoyments were dancing, painting and playing the organ. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, JoAnn Hoffman Buckner, Sitka, KS, daughter, Carol A. Summers, Wichita, brother, William H. Buckner, Jr., Mountain Home, AR. He is survived by his loving family, wife, Susan Crockett-Spoon, daughter, Diane M. (Eric) Jameson, Wichita, sister, Vonita Barnes, Pullman, MI, grandchildren, Teresa Walker (Jeff) Crosby, H. Daniel Walker, Anthony D. Walker, Terence D. Summers, Casey A. Jameson, Eric M. Jameson. Also survived by a very special niece, Dr. Christina Buckner (Irvin) DeAtley, Mountain Home, AR and nephew Donald W. (Magda) Buckner.
