Moore, Bertha Lillian, 99, loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, passed away August 2, 2010 surrounded by her family. Visitation with the family will be 6 - 8 PM Wednesday (tonight), at Watson Reflection Pointe, 3201 S. Webb Road. Graveside services will be held at 9:30 AM Friday, August 6, 2010, at Rushing Cemetery near Dover, AR. She is preceded in death by her husband, Reece, of 40 years; brother Clarence, Fay, Calvin and Idus; sisters Ethel and Irene. Survivors include: her son, John (Nancy) Moore, Wichita, grandchildren Jennifer Moore, Andrea Moore, of Gladstone, MO, Brent (Mia) Moore; great-grandchildren, Taryn Moore, Reece Sloyer, Lauren Sloyer and Kerby Sloyer. Bertha was born June 2, 1911, at the family farm of John and Mary Matilda (Mollie) Jones in Dover, Pope County, Arkansas. She earned her State of Arkansas Teacher certificate, enjoyed homemaking and retired from her work as a clearing house clerk at First National Bank of Albuquerque. Bertha was a proud member of many ladies clubs, especially Gold Star Wives. She worked many years as an election worker and was a staunch Democrat. Bertha cherished God and the people of Dover Cumberland Presbyterian Church. In 1993, Bertha moved back to Wichita for health reasons and to be near her family. She enjoyed the lively activities with her many friends at Georgetown Retirement Village. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established with Faith Home Health and Hospice.
