Young, Jesse D., age 73, ret. Boeing tool and die maker, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2006. The visitation with the family will be held from 6 - 8 PM Tuesday, with services scheduled for 10:30 AM Wednesday, both in the Garden Chapel of Watson Funeral Home. Jesse was born October 18, 1933, in Marshfield, MO to James and Ada (Cantrell) Young. On August 30, 1952, he married Shirley Mallory. In the late 60's & 70's he enjoyed playing in his Country Western band "The Country Raiders"and for many years, he has made handcrafted guitars and restored many musical instruments for local music stores. For the past 5 years, Jesse and his wife have been volunteers in the "Doc" B-29 Superfortress restoration project. Having many diverse interests, Jesse has also enjoyed time with his wife while quilt making. He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Shirley, son, Calvin (Anita) Young, of Neodesha, KS, daughters, Twila (Randy) Starns, of Wichita, Regina (Joseph) Sabato, of Bear, Delaware, brother, Oliver Cantrell, of Bellflower, CA, sister, Illene Bennett, of Seymour, MO, 4 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
