Andrew Phuong Vu

Andrew Phuong Vu, beloved son of David Bryan Vu and Hanh Phi Nguyen, passed away on the evening of Saturday September 12, 2020.

Andrew (Andy) was born May 11, 1977 in Saigon, Vietnam. He moved to Wichita, KS with his family in 1981, and graduated in 1995 from North High School. Andy most recently worked as a CNC programmer for Viega Manufacturing.

Andy was an incredibly gifted musician. Although he never learned to read music, he had the rare ability to pick up a guitar or sit down at a piano and play many songs by ear. He enjoyed sharing his talents for friends and family any chance he could.

Andy will be long remembered for his outgoing personality, his love for music, his fierce loyalty, his admiration for his friends, family, and elders, his generous nature, and his vibrant smile.

He is survived by his daughter Makayla Varnell, his mother Hanh Phi Nguyen, his father David Bryan Vu, his brother Anthony Phi Vu, and wife Vivian (Phuong Thuy) Vo, his brother Francis Phuc Vu, and wife Ashley D. Nguyen, his sister Phoenix Phuong Phi Vu-Ruttenberg, and husband Charlie Ruttenberg, his nieces Tiffany, Lauren, and Alexandra, his nephew Aaron, his close friends Brenden Collins, and Ricky Nguyen, and all his aunts, uncles and cousins in Italy and Vietnam.

The family would like to thank you for your prayers and support during their time of loss.
