Benjamin "Ben" Nida, 37, passed away June 27, 2024. He was born May 26, 1987 to Charles and Barbara (Husarik) Nida in Wichita, KS.
Benjamin had a great heart and loved his family deeply. He always tried to see the good in everyone, and would go to great lengths to help his friends and family even when it required personal sacrifice. Growing up, Ben looked up to his two older sisters. Together, they got into their share of mischief, like when they lifted him up on the kitchen counter to raid the cookie jar. They conveniently ran off with their cookies before momma came and left little Benjamin to take the blame.
Ben had a keen sense of humor, was extremely intelligent, loving, caring and was loved by everyone. Ben completed a GED and went through vocational training to become an auto mechanic, going on to work at Steven Volkswagen and a number of dealerships before recently opening his own shop with a partner. For those of us who knew and loved Ben, the world was brighter, warmer, and better while he was here and he was taken from us much too soon.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Esther Husarik and Charles L. Nida. Ben is survived by his wife of thirteen years, Alyssa; son, Braxton; daughter, Breelynne; family dog, Dagen; sisters, Sarah Igartua, Rachel (Ryan Lambert) Nida; parents, grandmother, Thelma Johnson; and nieces, Olivia, Rayna, Ava, and Raylene.
