Charlize "Charlie" Ounaphom

Charlize "Charlie" Ounaphom, 12, was born August 25, 2011 and passed away Tuesday, September 26, 2023.

Charlie Ounaphom is the daughter of Michael and Dannielle Ounaphom, and she has a close-knit family, including siblings Lauren, Bella, King, and Parker. While born and raised in Wichita, KS, she spent six years in Portland, OR, returning to Wichita in 2021. Within her family, Charlie has always assumed the role of leader and protector for her siblings and cousins.

One of Charlie's absolute favorite pastimes is watching scary movies and playing board games with her aunts and uncles. The fondest family memories are often made outdoors, where she enjoys activities like hiking, bike rides, and spending time near the coast. Currently, her obsessions include NewJeans, Le Sserafim and collecting photo cards.

Charlie's interests also extend to extracurricular activities, as she was a member of the drill team at Christa McAuliffe Academy, an experience she truly cherished. To easily identify her, one only needs to look for a pack of Extra Green Mint gum nearby. Despite her reserved nature, those who get to know her are sure to be charmed by her distinctive laugh, which has a contagious quality that can make anyone join in with laughter.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, Sone Ounaphom.  Charlie is survived by her parents, Dannielle and Michael Ounaphom; siblings, Lauren Ounaphom, Bella Ounaphom, King Ounaphom, and Parker Ounaphom; grandparents, Linh Nguyen, Tam Nguyen, and Kongkeo Ounaphom; and aunts and uncles, Christina Ounaphom, Dara Ounaphom, Marie Nguyen, Dung Nguyen, Long Nguyen, and Chris Nguyen. 

Visitation: Thursday, September 28, 2023, from 3 to 8 pm and Friday, September 29, 2023 from 11 am to 8 pm, both at Reflection Pointe Funeral & Cremation Services, 3201 S. Webb Rd., Wichita, Kansas 67210.  Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 am, Saturday, September 30, 2023 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, 258 N. Ohio Wichita, KS 67214.  Cremation to follow at Reflection Pointe Crematory.
