Doris Zemlicka

Doris Lenore Cushing Vandagriff Zemlicka was born in Greenleaf, Kansas as one of twelve children to James and Ethel Cushing. She lived in Kansas for her entire life.

Doris passed peacefully on the morning of July 11, 2021. She is survived by her two daughters, Judy Lee Porter and Connie Sue Hasty, six grandchildren: on the Moreno side – Marne, Susan, Ronald, and Velyn; on the Hasty side – Douglas and Tammi; ten great grandchildren, and six great-great grandchildren, her two sisters, Norma Jackson and Maxine Harris, and many nieces, nephews and in-laws. She is preceded in death by three daughters, Sandra Joy Vandagriff, Susan Kay Vandagriff, and Jani Lynn Vandagriff; and her two sisters, Elma Cairns, Eula Hendrick; and her seven brothers –Wayne, Don, Roy, Dean, Robert, Ivan, and Kenneth.

Doris was a remarkable woman with a quick sense of humor and a devotion to her family. Doris always saw the silver lining in the clouds and felt very blessed. She is missed very much. Her ashes will be interred at the Maplewood Cemetery in Greenleaf, Kansas on July 15th, 2021.
