Jacob Neuangthavong, 16, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024. He was born March 15, 2008 to Okath and Tiffini (Sysaeng) Neuangthavong in Wichita, KS.
Jacob was a junior at Southeast High School. He enjoyed playing video games and chatting with his friends on the computer he built. Jacob saw numerous movies with his father at the theater and frequented the YMCA pool in the summers. He joined Orchestra class in 6th grade and developed a passion playing the viola since then, while preforming and attending school Orchestra concerts. Jacob got his first job at Dairy Queen, quickly becoming one of their top and reliable performers. Jacob always loved tagging along with his older sisters to go shopping on the weekends or try a new restaurant in town.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Kong and My Sysaeng and Sam Neuangthavong. Jacob is survived by his parents; sisters, Amber Bounma and Leah Bounma; grandmother, Lay Neuangthavong; aunts and uncles, Ophath Neuangthavong, Ovath Neuangthavong, Youthakane Neuangthavong, Eddie Neuangthavong, Chanthy Sengxeiyavong, and Sis Simany; and 21 cousins.
Visitation: Wednesday, September 4, 2024 and Thursday, September 5, from 3 to 6 pm. Traditional Buddhist Service: 1 pm, Friday, September 6, 2024, all at Reflection Pointe Funeral & Cremation Services, 3201 S. Webb Rd., Wichita, KS 67210.
