Kasey Lee Phinney, born April 27, 1975, beloved daughter, sister, and accomplished professional, passed away from natural causes on February 16, 2024, in her hometown of Wichita, Kansas.
Kasey leaves behind a legacy of love and inspiration, cherished by her devoted parents Robert and Kim Phinney, her sister Kandi Turner, brother Michael Phinney, and his wife Heather. Survivors also include her aunt, Debbie Christenson, grandmother, Charlese McAlpin, her uncle, Jerry McAlpin and his son Jonathan.
Kasey was a graduate of Derby High School, where she excelled in academics and was a member of the State Champion Debate team in 1993.
She went on to Wichita State University, where she was awarded an academic scholarship, and graduated with a bachelor degree in both Art History and Philosophy.
Kasey furthered her education at St. Mary's University in Steubenville, Ohio, where she won the coveted Christian screenwriting competition with, "A Time For May", in 2002.
Kasey will be remembered for her unmatched intelligence, humor, boundless love, and her unwavering devotion to her faith.
A private family service was held at Reflection Pointe Funeral home with Father Jirak presiding.
