Loy "Art" Cherry

Loy "Art" Cherry, 93, passed away Monday, September 16, 2024. He was born December 3, 1930 to Loy and Zelma (Roland) Cherry in Wichita, KS. 

Art was a spiritual medicine man, a healer, and a teacher. Art shared his teachings and stories with many. His presence and joyous laughter will be missed. Arts favorite pastime was fishing.

He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Edward Cherry, Fern Reamy, and Joann Greeton; granddaughter, Kerri Morgan. Loy is survived by his wife of 40 years, Lorna; children, Victoria (Dave) Dibble, Valina (Jerry) Jackle, Loy (Shirley) Cherry, Jr., Kenneth DeHoff, and Joseph DeHoff; 11 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. 

Memorial Graveside Service: 2 pm, Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at the Kansas Veterans' Cemetery, 1208 N. College St., Winfield, KS 67156. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 256, 4590 W. Vanderhoff Cir., Wichita, KS 67209.
