Michael C. Wells

Michael C. Wells, 69, passed away Sunday, March 31, 2024.  He was born February 1, 1955 in Arkansas City, KS.  

He grew up and graduated high school in Andover KS and went to Butler Technical School for his C++ Programming certificate.

Mike started working at age 17 as a gas pump boy at Malcom’s Garage and has been in the workforce since then. He was a restaurant manager for various establishments for 20 years before he joined and worked for Boeing in 2002 as part of their IT server team and then Spirit AeroSystems in 2005 as an IT Admin until he retired in April of 2020 at the age of 65.

Mike had his first son Anthony in 1983 and his second Ethan in 2000. He met his surviving wife Janet in October of 2008 and got married in December of 2009. They then moved to Philippines in May of 2021 and came back to the US in March of 2022.  
 
Mike loved the outdoors and nature. He would hit the road when time permitted to see the countryside and God’s nature and wander across the country. He was also passionate about gardening and spent his free time reading, writing religious articles, and teaching. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jack Wells and Betty Ragland.  Michael is survived by his wife of 14 years, Janet Wells; sons, Anthony (Michaela) Wells and Ethan Wells; granddaughters, Nora Wells and Elena Wells; sisters, Vicki (Steve) Freeman and Tammy Wells; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. 

Visitation: Sunday, April 7, 2024, from 4 to 7 pm at Reflection Pointe Funeral & Cremation Services, 3201 S. Webb Rd., Wichita, KS 67210.  Funeral: 1 pm, Monday, April 8, 2024 at Prairie Meadows Free Seventh Day Adventist, 9330 Prairie Meadows Cir., Derby, KS 67037.  Interment to follow at Wichita Park Cemetery.
