Hà Quang Phương was born to Ha Quang Duong and Thieu Thi Quoi on November 12, 1935 in Saigon, Vietnam. He left this world on Saturday, July 9, 2022 at age 86 in Wichita, KS.
Phuong was the oldest of five siblings. Phuong and his family were able to move to the United States through a sponsorship from his brother, Ha Quang Hum. Before his admittance, he spent six months in the Philippines where he worked as an interpreter for Vietnamese refugees. He also taught English and French. After moving to the United States, he met and married Ho Thi Cuc and together, they had their only child, Ha Thi Xuan.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Phuong. He enjoyed spending his evenings at home watching "Wheel of Fortune" with his family, listening to the radio with his loved ones or solving crossword puzzles in the weekly newspaper. He challenged himself to learn new English words and enjoyed sharing what he learned with his daughter. He was quiet by nature, but it never stopped him from greeting everyone with a big smile.
Phuong is survived by his wife, Ho Thi Cuc; daughter, Ha Thi Xuan; sisters, Ha Quynh Yen and Ha Nguyet Hong; and brother, Ha Quang Hum.
