Ruby E. Anderson

Ruby Elizabeth Anderson, 94 of Cheney, Kansas passed peacefully from this earth on Friday, February 2nd, 2024.  Born February 24th, 1929 in Bethel, Oklahoma, she was the daughter of William Lee and Hettie E. Phillips.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles D. Anderson in 2009; stepson, Marc E. Anderson in 2021; sisters, Melva, Bessie, Daisy; and a brother, Mason.

Ruby is survived by her dear brother, Matt Phillips of Garvin OK; sister, Nellie Rogers, also of Oklahoma; daughters, Anne (Charles) Roach of Halstead, Mary (Wayne Stewart) Leierer of Wichita, Missi (Dean) Simon of Cheney; stepson, Douglas (Karen) Anderson of Brighton CO; stepdaughter, Mary Jane (Jim) Stoffle of Andover; daughter-in-law, Pamela (Marc) Anderson; grandchildren, Seth (Rebecca) Roach, Lindsay (Brady) Hanna, Lucas (Laura) Hutmacher, Sarah Samuels, Abby Hauck, Brandon Ochs, Heather Anderson, Jeff (Helen) Cartwright, Matthew (Pamela) Cartwright, Holly (Travis) Elder, and Shanon (Jennifer) Anderson; and numerous great-grandchildren. 

Ruby's life revolved around her family, especially her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she showered with love and affection.

Ruby’s passion for hospitality, entertaining and gardening made her home in Cheney the core center of she and her husband, Charles entire life together. Family gatherings and hunting adventures were many in number, and all of them were filled with love, tall tales, and delicious meals. She led a life of compassion and unwavering commitment to her family, and everyone who knew her loved her. She simply did not know a stranger, and her door was always open. Her generous nature and kind heart will be missed by the many lives she touched.

Memorial service: 1 pm, Saturday, February 24, 2024, at Reflection Pointe Funeral & Cremation Services, 3201 S. Webb Rd., Wichita, KS 67210.  Inurnment to follow at Richland Cemetery.
