Steven Randall “Randy” Stephenson, passed peacefully away during an afternoon nap at his home Saturday, December 10, 2022. He was born February 25, 1957 in Wichita, Kansas to Newton R. and Eunice “June” Stephenson. He was the baby of seven children born to them. Randy graduated from West High in 1975 and went into the US Navy later that year. He served over 20 years and retired November 15, 1996, reaching the rank of E-7, Chief Petty Officer. He returned to Wichita after his retirement and began a home maintenance business, later working for USD 259 and retiring this past year as Assistant Manager at O’Reillys Auto Parts.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents; and brothers, Rick, Gerald, Phillip, and George Earl. He is survived by his wife, Tammy; dog, “Chief”, both of the home; sons, Nicholas of Derby and Dakota of Wichita; step-sons Robbie of North Carolina, Richard and Eddie both of Wichita, and Kenny Geiger of Newton; 13 grandchildren, one brother, Terry of Rose Hill; sister, Cindy of Wichita; and numerous nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends. Randy was happiest when he was riding his motorcycle with Tammy and “Rolling Thunder”, in which he served as Vice President.
Services are scheduled for 2 pm, Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Reflection Pointe Funeral & Cremation Services, 3201 S. Webb Rd., Wichita, KS 67210, followed by a tribute ride to a dinner and farewell at All Star Sports West, 8333 W. 21st St. N., Wichita, KS 67205.
Being a retired Navy Chief, Randy requested he be buried at sea, which will take place later.
