Vanhsy Phongmany, 75, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2018. He was born January 3, 1943 to Bounlieng and Bounpheng Phongmany in Pakse, Laos.
Vanhsy served as a Captain in the Laotian Army. In 1978, he moved to America with his family. Vanhsy retired from Kice Industries and was a former president of the Lao Buddhist Associates of Kansas. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and was very generous with his time in helping others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and 1 sibling. Vanhsy is survived by his wife of 45 years, Vanhly; children, Cynthia Phongmany, Marina Phongmany, Katdaleana Bouahome, Arisack Phongmany, and Molly Lounmala; grandchildren, Austina, Asiana, and Austin-Cory Bouahome, Aaliyah, Charisma, and Brady Phongmany, Carter and Cooper Lounmala, and Katelyn Harat; and 16 siblings.
Visitation: Thursday, March 15, 2018 and Friday, March 16, 2018, from 9 am to 8 pm. Traditional Buddhist Service: 1 pm, Saturday, March 17, 2018; all at Reflection Pointe Funeral & Cremation Services, 3201 S. Webb Rd., Wichita, KS 67210.
