Wanda A. Yates, a beacon of kindness and generosity, passed away peacefully at the age of 95 years and 6 months on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. She was born March 4, 1929 to Joseph and Lonnie (Dawson) Bell in Van Buren, MO.
Known for her warm heart and giving nature, Wanda touched the lives of many in her family and friends. Her love for gardening was evident in the beautiful blooms and lush greenery that adorned her home, reflecting her nurturing spirit and passion for nature. Beyond her green thumb, Wanda had a delightful guilty pleasure: she enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino, where she found joy and excitement.
Wanda was married to the love of her life, Billy Yates. When he passed in 2021, she was deeply lost without him. Despite her loss, she continued to live her life with grace and kindness, leaving a legacy of love, generosity, and cherished memories. Wanda was a devoted mother who cherished her family and loved all her children immensely. Wanda’s gentle soul and vibrant presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy, of nearly 50 years; daughter, Judy Stull; sons, Mitchell Gresham and Kenneth Gresham; and several siblings. Wanda is survived by her children, Jewell Danner, Frances Isenbletter, Charles Gresham, Madeline Gresham, Julie Willems, Michael Gresham, Sherry (Montie) Daugherty, and Larry Mosley; brother, Tom Bell; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Visitation: Tuesday, August 13, 2024, from 4 to 7 pm. Funeral Service: 2 pm, Wednesday, August 14, 2024, both at Reflection Pointe Funeral & Cremation Services, 3201 S. Webb Rd., Wichita, KS 67210. Interment to follow at Reflection Pointe Cemetery.
