Keng Chantivong, 97, passed away Friday, April 3, 2020. She was born December 31, 1922 in Muang Sing, Laos. She married her late husband Mai Anh and together they have 12 children. In 1991 she moved to San Diego, California and reunited with the rest of her family. In 1998, she moved to Wichita, Kansas and has been home for the past 22 years.
Keng had a smile that would brighten the room, a gentle touch to comfort you, and a loving heart and soul. She dedicated her life to her family and Buddha, where she spent many days meditating, make merit and offerings to the Buddhist monks. She enjoyed gardening, she loved all types of flowers especially peonies and gardenias, she said they smell of the prettiest. She loved cooking her favorite dishes for her grandkids. She loved everyone and was loved by many and will be missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband Mai Anh and 6 of their children.
She is survived by her eldest daughter, Tip Chantivong; daughter Kanh Chantivong; daughter Peang Phongvilai; son Tham Chantivong; daughter Toun Phommachanh and daughter Phone Chantivong. In addition to 21 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Thursday, April 9, 2020 and Friday, April 10, 2020 from 10 am to 2 pm. A private family service will take place at Reflection Pointe.
